What if I don't get better? The thought echoed in her mind, but as usual she pushed it away. Her lower lip jutting out, she allowed Roger to be close to her for the moment, for persuasion purposes. "Come on baby please. Maybe we can have one of our little parties? Play a little strip poker, drink, maybe Collins will bring some pot...Come on please?" Her wide eyes emphasized her pleas, hoping to drive the point home and get her way. Poking her hand out of the long sleeve she ran her index finger along the rocker's jaw, flashing her sweetest smile.
"Wouldn't it be fun guys?" Mimi asked, this time looking at Mark and Joanne. Suppressing the urge to cough, she cleared her throat instead.

Joanne sighed and nodded shortly as they seemed to come to the conclusion that the juice could wait. She sat back down on the couch and watched as Mimi tried to persuade Roger and smiled slightly shaking her head.
She blinked as Mimi directed the question to her and Mark. Glancing at Mark, Joanne looked back at Mimi and shrugged. "Well, I think as long as it doesn't go on all night. And you get enough rest." She looked over at Roger and shrugged her shoulder. "It could keep her mind off of being sick. I think it could be ok. It might be what she needs..." She looked back over at Mimi for a second and smiled faintly.

Already seeing he was going to be outnumbered he shrugged in defeat. "I guess..", he muttered half-heartedly. Staring down at Mimi he nodded. "Yeah, alright. I guess it can't hurt too much.." Anything would be better than laying around worrying about Mimi. Not that he didn't think she was worth worrying about or anything. He just overeacted when he was concerned and by the time he was done worrying he was depressed. He could use a little fun, they all could. "Promise me you'll at least get a lot of rest after your little party?", he asked Mimi, using his sweetest smile now.

"You know... I offered to get the juice," Mark commented as he bit into the muffin once again. No one listened to him, honestly. Not that he minded all of the time, but sometimes it got annoying. And he hated parties. The last time they had a party Maureen stole his camera and tried to hide it from him. Not a good idea on her part. No, Mark was not okay with a party. He was probably, aside from Joanne, the most straight laced of all the friends and felt the need to exercise his right as the whiny Jewish boy at least for the time being. He had that right every once and a while, after all, cracks about his mother had been made. It could only invovle retaliation of the most annoying manner.
Crossing his arms, Mark took another bite of the muffin and tossed the wrapper into the waste basket. "I think I might run out until this party is over. I thought I saw something interesting in Times Square, hell, there's always something interesting there," the filmmaker picked up his camera. "You're all welcome to mess up anything you'd like. Most of it's Roger's or my mom's anyway."

Letting out a shrill squeal, Mimi jumped up and wrapped her arms tightly around Roger's neck, her lips pressing against his cheek. "Yeah, yeah rest...sure. Let's party! She broke away to throw her arms in the air and shake her hips. "I'm gonna go take a shower before the party. Wanna come Rog?" she said, giving her boyfriend an enticing grin and a wink. All thoughts of her discomfort and flu fled from her mind as adrenaline rushes through her body, fueling her with energy.
Distantly she heard Mark mention the juice again, and as she was about to turn to him, he got up and continued to talk. The girl had been about to tell him it might be a good idea for him to get some Cranberry juice to go with their vodka, but was cut off. Furrowing her eyebrows at his words, Mimi stood in front of him, her mood drastically brought down. I'm tired of this bullshit. Lately Mark had been very distant with her, and in any other circumstance she would have gone right ahead and had her party, enjoyed herself with the rest of the gang, but somehow the filmmakers attitude was something she couldn't overlook. Irritated and hurt, she shoved him out of the way and headed for the door. "Don't bother Mark...I'll just go. Forget the party." On her way out she cursed under her breath and slammed the door.
It wasn't characteristic of Mimi to get upset and give up on her idea for a party/good time, but something wasn't right. She ran down the stairs toward her apartment. She hadn't been there in two weeks, but it seemed like the best place to go now. When she reached her door, instead of opening it, she slid down to the floor, her back pressed against it. Her bottom lip between her teeth, Mimi absently rubbed at her arm and looked at the wall beside her.

Joanne smiled at Mimi and shook her head. It probably wasn't good to try to do things to get your mind off of reality. But when it was screaming in your face all the time it was a nice vacation from it. She stood up and put her hand up, "If you two are going to do anything in the shower--" she said then trailed off.
She looked over at Mark noticing the subtlely unhappy tone in his voice and sent him a faintly apologetic look knowing fully well that he had the right to be annoyed if not a bit angry. Especially since he seemed to be the butt of everyones jokes. Joanne opened her mouth to say something but fell silent when Mimi spoke again sounding very upset. Blinking as Mimi left the apartment, Joanne looked over in Rogers direction confused about what just had happened.

Roger's grin quickly faded as he stared at Mimi, watching as she fled the loft. His gaze fell on Mark and he gave him a pointed look, shaking his head. "Nice one, Cohen. You really are your mother's son." He ran a hand through his hair, not really sure why Mimi had gotten so upset, but he was pretty sure it had to do with Mark. "She's just trying to have some fun, even Joanne agreed to having some fun...you couldn't sit through one party?" His friend spent way too much time with that camera of his anyways. Looking over at Joanne he gave her a pleading look. "Could you maybe..I don't know, talk to her?", he asked. "Maybe it's a woman thing?", he suggested sarcastically. Crossing his arms over his chest he shot Mark another look before resting his gaze on Joanne again. He really wasn't good at the whole talking thing. His way of solving problems was usually to brood over them, very unlike the young Latina who had just stormed off.

Mimi abruptly pulled herself up and slipped into her apartment, not locking the door behind her. She sat on her "kitchen" counter and pulled her legs up. If only I could go get Roger. The girl still wanted to take that shower with him, but didn't exactly want to go back to the loft while Mark was still there. A headache began to pound inside her forehead and she closed her eyes, willing it to go away. She coughed against her fist and hopped off the counter to search for a cup. Finding a plastic one in the fridge, she pulled it out and filled it with tap water, taking a long drink.
One part of her wanted to go back downstairs, tell Mark to f*ck himself and have the party anyway, and the other part of her just wanted to go shower and go out by herself. Mimi dropped the empty cup into the sink and made her way into the bathroom. I guess I'll have to take that bath alone...

Joanne stepped towards Roger as he started to harp on Mark about not wanting to stay for the party. "Roger..." She said putting her hand out and shaking her head slightly. She fell silent as he looked at her and asked her to talk with Mimi.
She blinked at him and raised her eyebrows. "Me?" She asked, "I don't think it has to do with 'female problems' Roger. She probably wants to see you..." She shrugged and took him by the shoulder leading him towards the door. "Just go ask her whats wrong. I'm sure she'll take everything from there." She said quietly, knowing why it could be a little off putting for him to go seek out Mimi when she was in a mood like this, they were pretty opposite from eachother in some ways. But he was her boyfriend and she also knew that it would probably be Roger that she wanted to see and not Joanne.

Roger listened to Joanne's warning, nodding and looking over at Mark, shrugging as an apology. "You're just always hiding behind that camera of yours..", he muttered. He nodded as Joanne walked him towards the door. "Yeah..alright. I guess you're right..", he mumbled weakly in agreement. "Maybe you can try talking to Mark..", he suggested before leaving the loft, walking down to Mimi's apartment. He knocked lightly on the door before stepping inside. "Mimi?", he called. Walking further in he spotted Mimi walking into the bathroom. "Hey babe, are you okay?", he asked. Okay..stupid question. "I mean..what's wrong?", he asked, walking up to her. Already he was screwing this 'solving problems' thing up. ((OOC: I think we're probably supposed to start a new thread in Mimi's apartment then. ))

Mark didn't really know what he did wrong. Maybe she was just mad or something? He wasn't doing anything awful, he didn't think. He just didn't want to have a party. What was wrong with that? Couldn't someone not be in the mood for a party? Sighing softly, Mark rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry...?" he called after her unsurely as she stormed from the apartment. He didn't even know what he did, let alone why she should be mad at him. Pursing his lips, he watched defeated as the others argued a little before going to see what was wrong.
He just stood in the middle of the room, alone. Again.

"Yeah," Joanne said as she saw Roger off to Mimi's apartment, "sure, I'll talk to Mark." She waved at him and bade him good luck then turned around and walked back into the apartment. She sent a look in Mark's direction before sitting down at the table and grabbing anouther muffin picking at it for a few moments.
"Is something wrong, Mark?" she asked eyeing him curiously. She wasn't quite sure if anything was really wrong. Sure Joanne had never seen Mark get overly excited about the idea of a party which she could usually relate to. But he did come off as sounding slighlty bitter when they started talking about it even if it wasn't ment to sound like that.
